What's up dog?

Moo is unemployed, shows no real interest in pursuing a career & after nailing Puppy School she just dropped out & hasn't pursued any further education. She has lived off us for the past 14 years. But for a rescue pup she has made it her life's mission to win hearts & on that front she has excelled. We first saw her on the front page of the North Shore Times when her litter was dumped on the top of Mount Victoria. They were looking for homes & we were looking for a family dog. My demands were that we had to save a rescue dog & it had to be black (fewer black rescues get adopted). She ticked those boxes but also has the best, sweetest old-soul nature & gorgeous face. This cover model joined our family as our forever girl. Throughout her life she has volunteered at 3 Santa Parade's, on one memorable occasion wedged between a donkey & 3 chihuahuas. None were eaten. She has visited libraries to help children understand dogs & how to approach them. She thinks this makes her a qualified teacher but she didn't get paid so we aren't so sure. She saw years ahead that football would focus the worlds attention on NZ & was the mascot for East Coast Bays FC for several years, attending every game wearing her blue & white striped scarf & wagging her tail double time, distributing supportive licks & hugs at half time, congratulatory hugs at full time. For several years she patiently guarded school bags at Waiake while her beloved kids sailed the high seas on Optimists. She permanantly wears her All Blacks jersey so was a perfect good luck charm during the World Cup that we won in Auckland. Now she is older, whiter, slower & creakier but still wins hearts everytime we go walkies.
